The Markhouse Corner improvements are ongoing and we have been engaging with the local community and businesses since July 2022. The project is being funded by developer contributions.

The works include resurfacing the area around the Millenium Clock and more planting with new rain gardens alongside the cycle lane on Church Road and by Potter’s House on Lea Bridge Road.

We are exploring using innovative techniques so that 3 new mature trees might be planted, while retaining the existing cherry tree. There will be new planters around the café seating area, with enhanced spill out space for the café to occupy. New decorative lighting will also be installed around the new trees and plants.
