Leytonstone Labour Team
Labour Councillors for Leytonstone - Jenny Gray, Clyde Loakes and Marie Pye
We are your Leytonstone Councillors, Cllr Jenny Gray, Cllr Clyde Loakes and Cllr Marie Pye, first elected in 2006 and re-elected in 2022.
Since then, we have been speaking to hundreds of residents at our regular ‘street surgeries’ covering the entire ward – learning what you like about our community and your hopes for our future.
Our pledges to you:
- Help support flood mitigation in Leytonstone by installing Sustainable Urban Drainage Schemes (SUDS) like rain-gardens and encourage more household flood resilience.
- Improve the safety, look and feel of the walking and cycling route alongside the A12 including with improved lighting, public art and sustainable planting.
- Improve the range of groups, activities and events supported through our Community Ward Forum Funding and Town Centre Team, that enrich the vibrancy of the Leytonstone community and our local town centre economy.
- Work with the local police and the council to crack down on low level criminal activity, drug dealing and ASB, in and around Leytonstone.
- Establish the grounds of the Good Shepherd/ Pastures buildings as a new public open space for the residents of Leytonstone to enjoy.
