The area is being planted with new trees and native and drought tolerant planting to increase biodiversity.

A newly constructed path will link the Feel Good Centre with an upgraded entrance on Spruce Hills Road, and connect to the Town Hall campus and new Queen Elizabeth sensory garden. Highway improvements to Spruce Hills Road will redirect surface water and offer flood protection to properties. The two new wetland basins will hold and filter surface water.

Alongside the new planting, the wetland will create a diverse and attractive place for local residents with an educational nature trail, seating and play opportunities.
